Dusky and looking weary
are the leaves on the dogwood tree,
that form a canopy of shade
over the lush floral delights
of this waning summers garden.

A stillness prevails,
as mauve and purple clouds
float across a storm laden sky.

The water fountain dances and sings,
unaware of all, but it's own joy.

So detatched from all that surrounds,
this fountain of splashing splendor
gives serenity to garden and heart.
A lesson that is deeply needed,
is learned and harkened to.

Detatch and be still,
from the storms of life,
and know that we are forever....
in God's care!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

How beautiful and so appropriate right now as summer is waning.

Ellie- my dear friend,
As with age, declining abilities and Joys of the once known can be compensated by the possession of expanded experiences, greater wisdom, and yet a greater store of life memories.  As with so many things, the way God deals with us, so many times on door closes and others are opened.  Thank you for sharing your blest perceptions of such.
  I appreciate You,
     David

Every Day's a Blessing
And Gift-Wrapped from Above,
Share it with another
And Spread the Father's Love!!!

May You come to Know His Best Blessing

Ellie,

OH MY!!  I must say...this poem is one example of outstanding imagery...I really felt like I was sitting with you right there next to the fountain...I could hear the water and I could almost look up and see the beautiful colors...Wow...I haven't read a poem like this in a long while...well I have been around in a long while either...Good to be back!!

J~
