In God's Eyes

In God's eyes we are beautiful,
Although He knows our flaws.
He wants to see us flourishing,
But still obey His laws.

In God's eyes, we are children.
As any parent will,
He guides us and protects us.
Of course, He always will.

But He holds us accountable
For everything we do.
For words and thoughts as well as deeds,
Some black marks can accrue.

One day we'll have to face Him with
Our record in our hand.
Let's hope that we'll all graduate
Into the Promised Land!

I like this very much Betty.  We are children in his eyes, but we must obey.  Joyce

BettyLou~
Wonderful !

'He holds us accountable
For everything we do.'

That's definitely parenting at it's finest !

Loving us in spite of our misdeeds, He's so generous with His loving grace.  You've so well put across the point that we're still held accountable.  Thank you for sharing this gem with us.

Marge:  Thanks for reading my poem. I wish more of today's parents followed His example where accountability goes. It would sure be a better world.

Accountability to God...  I wish we could all grasp this with more seriousness.  Sometimes we cheapen the revelation of God's loving nature, and forget that he is a God of holiness and we will have to give account of our lives.

Thanks for the reminder.

Stephen.

Really like this poem. It is one that speaks the truth and reminds us of our obligations.

Very well said! Thank God for forgiveness, that wipes our slate (black marks) clean when asked in sincerity.
