Awakened, again... God came knocking waking from a slumber. Been sleeping and dreaming slipping, slipping further under. Returning like son of old who turned and went his way. Yet when he came back, humble welcomed with richest love. Once asleep, now awakened gentle, oh so persistent Voice. Awakened from a silly slumber presented with a choice. Daydreaming...feeling empty dead inside day after day like pennies in a jar. Alarm clocks, quick bite, mad dash, traffic jams, projects overdue, climbing. Deadlines, performance reports running near empty most every day. Honey do this and honey do that tossed into the mix, no time, no time, no time, no time! Then like ray of sunshine breaking through stormy skies... Feeling God’s presence flood into peace, love, forgivness, joy and wonder. Everything else pales, shrinks all that matters is His love. Feeling the One who made me hold me, forgive me, welcome me, love me. Feeling safe, warm, content, comforted. Basking in His awesome embrace... no time, no time, no time, no time! Father, please don’t ever let me go again! please, oh please don’t let me go. Safe in the arms of He who made me safe here, wrapped in His love. God came knocking woke me from my silly slumber. Been dreaming and slipping away now; awakened with His gentle voice. Left or right, day or night choose ye this day...life or death same choice given to each and all. Tis how we answer our ultimate fates are made our decision...stand or fall. Tramp Poet: |

There is so much that I liked about your poem.... first the reference to the Prodigal son, your depiction of the routine rat race of life.... the contrasts of No Time. No time for the Lord and then once life is given to the Lord how time ceases to exist.....and then finally the decisions that we all need to face... between life and death. Written with a lot of good subject matter and pleasure to read. Bob <>< |

oh how the conflicts and the racing ruts of life can try to get us off track and forget the real...then, when we 'wake-up' and remember to take the time to be held, what wondrous things can happen |
