I sit in church and ponder
The violence over yonder
When will precious peace reign
And blood not pour from veins

It soaks the earth in crimson hue
Just like they also did to You
Nailing You to a common tree
For all the world to see

Humiliation at it’s best
For failing their little test
They doubted who You were
Although they were never sure

You sat and let them rage
Fulfilling Your Father’s page
It had already been written so
The cup of anguish shall overflow

You held Your head high
As Your mother sat and cried
Unable to change Your fate
Because of their awful hate

They spat and called You names
Putting You to shame
As You hung upon the cross
Suffering the ultimate loss

You willingly died
Blood flowing in tides
For all our many sins
Yet You were risen again

They couldn’t keep You down
Not even with a thorny crown
You triumphed in the end
So that my soul could mend

I thank You, my Lord
Laying down my sword
I give my all to You
For all You have been through

All writing comes
by the grace of God.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Lone Wolf,

I cry each time I read or hear the details of Jesus on the cross,
I can't help it... and here, I'm doing it again.  It touches my heart.

but, the good news prevails...

Jesus Rose Again!

and again I can smile.

Very passionate piece of how we treated our Savior. It is so horrible and yet the result is so amazing. And he still loves us! Still.
Thanks so much for sharing your heart in this.
Sincerely,
Rwood

With all things considered, why not God?
