The Library

After reading the Gospel of John today, I recieved a vision, and I tried to record it as best as I could in this poem.  I hope you enjoy it, as I have enjoyed and learned from it.  Thanks be to God in the Highest!

"Jesus did many other things as well.  If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written." - John 21:25

I saw Heaven today,
  I saw Heaven!
Well actually not all of it,
  just the library...
There were books,
  so many books!

Books on His teachings,
Books on His miracles,
Books on His martyrs,
Books on His saints,

Oh John! You were right--
There's not enough room in the world
for these books that are written.
Oh John! If people could only go
to the Christ Presidential Library.

Now I saw no Sexton, Lawrence, or Plath,
No Frank Herbert, No Franz Kafka,
Not even Christian writers like
C.S. and Pascal,
LaHaye and Jenkins,
Blake or Donne,
(I couldn't even find a copy
of John Milton's 'Paradise Lost')

I was disappointed,
There was so many books I missed,
how could this library be full?
I saw none of J.D. Salinger's work
called 'the catcher in the rye'
(and I was mad
because it was my favorite secular book)
Then He came,
  Yes! Jesus came!

Now Jesus said:
  "Dear child,
why read a book you have already read?
There is so much in Christ
   you have yet to know."

Now Jesus Lead me to the periodicals
with headlines that read
"Another soul saved!"
and the article included testimonies
of what Christ did in their life,
how they came to know Him,
and how they came to trust Him,

I said:
  "Lord, these stories are amazing!
   instead of the obituaries,
they had a section for people
   who gained their life back,
   people who were born again!"

He said:
"Child, we can look at your microfish"
   (as opposed to microfiche)

Now the Lord
He was humble
When we reached sections
where I stumbled

The Lord knew my thoughts and asked:
  "Child, why do you fear,
   are you not in heaven?
Yes on earth you had walked away,
Yes on earth you had come back to the way,
you have sinned, as all have sinned,
but I have forgiven you again and again,
and I have brought you to New Jerusalem,
so that you may never fear again."

Upon this Jesus kissed me on the cheek,
and took me to a special section of the library.

There was this room with my name,
the name God had given me, not my parents,
However He did not reveal it to me in my vision
(I guess the Lord wants me to keep thinking!)

There were books locked by a glass window,
You could read the dates,
Some days I vaguely remembered
others I had no idea what I had done,

I asked the Lord:
  "May I read these books?"

He said:
  "No"

(No, then why has He brought me here?!)

He then said:
  "No"

He then pointed to a plaque
that said forgiven,
and explained:
"These are the chapters of your old life.
If you were to relive them,
They will not be the same,
for you have seen the truth,
   and as it is written,
the truth shall set you free,
   who you were that date,
is not who you are today."

(Christ knew,
I was also wondering about the dates
I came to know Him,
the days in which I glorified Him,
could I not read these days too?)

The Lord said:
"My Child, your pride on earth
has prevented me to give you this vision before.
If it were not for my loved disciple,
you would of not been able to write this,
for he works through Me, and I through him,
and the I through him, has now worked through you,
I have seen you fall, I have seen you rise,
and I have cried every single time,
I hear your prayers of 'Lord, Lord,
may I feel Your wrath so that I may not sin.'
   but I tell you this,
If you have truly seen Me,
you will stay far from sin,
You have seen My wrath through your guilt,
   through your pride,
   through your ignorance,
   through your lust and hate,
and still you cry 'Lord, Lord,
may I feel Your wrath so that I may not sin.'"

Upon hearing this
I went to the side of my bed,
got on my knees and prayed,
thanking Jesus for this vision,
thanking Him for the way--

Jesus again spoke:
"I died for you 2000 years ago,
I died only once 2000 years ago,
I only had to escape death once,
   to release you of sins,
   for yesterday, today, and tomorrow,
for although my death happened once,
it is made eternal through the Father
and on that day I thought of you
as I have thought about everyone else,
that they too may live life eternal"

Then Christ brought me back to the vision,
handed me a book with blank pages,
and said:
"Now I will write you a new book,
a new life, a new hope,
   Though you had Me before,
This time I will have you more,
   when you are falling,
come to my library through vision,
read the stories of Great men and women
who have and will succeed because of me,
and know that I will hold you in battle,
you now know you have felt My wrath,
Now you know I have heard your prayers,
   So go Child,
share this story with the world,
   And when the day comes
when you can truly walk in My library,
I'll show you around some more.
   Remember,
My Library is huge (meaning that heaven
   is truly not boring).
Maybe I'll show you my own poetry section,
   heard of David or Solomon?
who do you think gave them words to write?"

Oh Lord,
You are truly great!
You are the best poet,
the best writer,
Lord, I am patient,
but so much I want to read your works.
I sings praises to You
I worship You,
Thank You Lord! Thank You!

Upon leaving the library,
Jesus said:
"I hope you found the book you were looking for."

Though I never saw His face, I did see His hand.

...and it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams... (Acts 2:17)

Your vision is marvelously scriptuaral and I am very happy that I have not had a dream in some time.... means that I am not considered an old man.... yet.  Yes, I too have marveled at your referenced scripture in astonishment of all that Jesus did while on earth.... but your vision extends the time frame, because in truth He is the Alpha and the Omega as Heaven's Library continues to grow.....  God has truly blessed you with this vision and I thank you for sharing it with us........   Bob <><

Scout~
How you've touched my life this day~

He then pointed to a plaque
that said forgiven,
and explained:

They will not be the same,

and as it is written,

I needed this ... I needed this~

What tremendous insight in your vision.
Bless you for the sharing~

This is simply one of the best spiritual poems I have read in a very long time. I am blessed by your words.  Shalom

Scout,  I learned, and I thank you for a wonderfully, descriptive recalling of your vision.  May you always "see" as you have seen this day.

If I made you smile today then I did my job!

This is the best tribute to God I have read in a long time. There is so much in this touching account of your vision.

Scout....a truly wonderful vision. Left me thinking what my name truly is...

also led me to thinking that you should be offering this to every minister, priest, preacher, and other leaders of various churches that you know in your community, and watch the wave take over.....

for it is just something like this, that should be shared....

and I am grateful that His hand led yours to write this.

Thank you.
