When your boat won't float
And you're sinking down,
What can you do--
Just take on water and drown?

In Acts 27, here we see,
What they did in such a tragedy
So for us here, there's lessons to learn--
Whether in deep water, or fixing to burn.

When it seems our boat won't float
First it is up to US,
To do those things that WE can do
To keep our ship from going bust!

Then we must Seek the Help of God
And Pray to Him, seeking His Light,
To see us through the roughest times
Retrieving us from our night.

Thirdly, we must Trust Him
His Word, do explicitly,
For our ways are not His--
Go on Faith, and not what we see.

Even after we've done all that
Our boat may sink anyway,
In Christ, we have not failed--
God delivers as promised, always!

The text for the Lesson is Acts 27.
I encourage you to read it and to feed
Your Faith.  God bless you All,
                  David

Very nice David.  The Lord helps those who help themselves and then we must trust him. Thanks for the reminder.  Joyce

Wonderful lesson, David.  We do have a part to play in how events unfold, He can't do it all.  We can however call on Him to help.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

David,

Reading your poem from a sermon perspective, I can't help but think of Jonah.  Not to go into detail, but I think that God is calling some folks to do something more with their life than sleep at the bottom of their boat...  perhaps they need a little wake up call?  Maybe being swallowed by a whale of a fish might do them some good!  It would be kind of an extreme form of deliverance... but still, a measure to get one back on God's path.   Just another perspective on your delightful message.  Sorry to dive in as I did.  Bob <><
