O Lord, I bow my head
As I give glory to You
Thank you Lord
For taking my burdens
Lifting them up as your own
So that I may walk free again

I come here, Father, in earnest
To sing and shout praise to You
To magnify Your holy name
Here among Your people
We all lift our hearts
Rejoicing in everlasting love

I know with all my heart Lord
That You alone gave Your life
So that we may have life eternal
All of our sins being washed
By the power of Your precious blood
In the ultimate sacrifice

You endured the anguish
Of the cross to pay our debt
Freeing us from the bonds of sin
The price was very high
Yet You went willingly to die
So we may be born anew

I thank you, Father
For all You have done
In cleansing my soul,
Hearing my prayers,
Forgiving my sins,
And healing my body

I shall use every opportunity
You present to me, Lord
To glorify Your name
Telling others of Your power
So that they may also
Abide in You

O Lord, I pray that You
Watch over the sick
Healing their bodies and minds
Allowing them to walk
In the path of righteousness
At Your loving side

I pray that You
Watch over me
On my journey
Giving me strength
To face each trial
With courage

I pray, Lord, that You
Watch over my family
And my friends
Granting them the wisdom
To make the right choices
Which will lead them home

Please bless us and keep us safe
From all harm which may come our way
For we know You are with us always
In good times and in bad
We remember that You are the Lord God
And we will dwell in Your house forevermore

Amen

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

great poetry. I have seen that god has touched you in many ways. Keep it up.

Lone Wolf,

Just reading your poem (Afternoon Prayer) brings my soul into the presence of God....  Reminds me so of how God says we are to pray like the Lord's prayer itself.  So much you have written here.... simply Lovely.  Bob <><
