As she arose to view a Picture over the fireplace, Memories of a past love Embedded themselves into her face. He was her strength and Her valiant song. Now his embrace is Forever gone. He was known for his wits And his ability to serve. It's been five years, yet the Voice of his memory can still be heard. Every now and then...it still rains. Before winter sets in she prays extra hard. Winter has a way of vexing Without any regard. A comforting hug will relieve the pain, But in a short while it returns again. Often she has bowed her head and wept, Realizing time and prayer are her long term help. Send a prayer her way And you come along too. One day you will need someone To help you through. We all experience the warmth of the sun, But every now and then...it still rains. The essence of all that is important in life...starts with you. - Joyce Rogers [This message has been edited by joycerogers (edited 05-21-2001).] |

Sometimes the rain is almost more than we can bear. Very touching poem. Betty Lou Hebert |

Joyce, A very emotional poem... I could feel the emptiness that those simple memories bring to this ladies life... a picture... the sound of falling rain... and I could see the images of her dear friends who've come to comfort in prayer and with hugs... The man sounds like a nobel person certainly worthty of holding on to in that he has become so much a vital part of her life. Very good and full of expression. Bob <>< |
