Before my candle goes out,
I want no weeping or wailing,
Nor prayers which are delaying,
The glorious exit for me.

My eyes have seen a vision.
My time is at it’s conclusion.
For eternity was seen beyond,
In front of me a timeless song.

I want but the touch of a hand,
The warmth of a friend,
Who understands...

Before my candle goes out

The cards and flowers
I no longer need.
I’m ready to take this flight.
I’m ready to be freed.

It matters not my age.
I am in the last chapter,
Turning the last page.

Don’t stand there in a daze.
Usher me in with His praise.
Let Him take pleasure in my death,
While there’s still little of me left.

Shhh...He’s blowing my candle out.

O Morning...wrap yourself around me today. Let me experience the peace I see in you.

A beautiful acceptance of passing from life on earth to eternal life. I feel so strongly about that acceptance greatly enhancing any and all existing time left here. As it's been so aptly put, 'Death before life.' Thankk you for sharing this piece.

I do like the image of God blowing out the candle... The same who breathed life into us will one day with a breath take life away. Provocative thought. Bob <><
