A Desert Dream The sun beat hot upon my brow My feet were giving out My lips were parched from From the desert heat I was ready for defeat Then I gazed across The arrid, dusty horizon Seeing a white bearded old man Drinking from a sparkling fountain I drew closer, watching him drink "Is the water good? I said He answered with a nod Saying, "It's the best there ever was." So I cupped my hands In the sparkling fountain Bringing the cool water to my lips In a moment I was refreshed Looking up to thank the man He had vanished as a dream I have often wondered who he was For he looked as old as Methuselah I've often thought that maybe He never died But comes to drink At the sparkling fountain Living forever in the desert's mountains If I ever meet him again someday I want to thank him For the refreshing drink For the strength, it gave me To go on, when I was ready for defeat. |

Almost like an angel. Strange how they work! I love the male body, it's better designed than the male mind.---Andrea Newman |

that is so cool!!! I loved this - isn't it so cool how when we are in a desert place and feeling thirsty, He leads us to a place of refreshing and gives us strength to carry on - loved the metaphor! |

I wnjoyed this greatly! ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. But a place of torment because the light of God is gone. To escape this, accept the blood of Jesus Christ! ~*~ |

We could all stand to learn from this dream. Very symbolic, and yes, refreshing too...LOL Michael |

You tell a wonderful story within this poem. It is easy to imagine being in the desert and being offered to drink from the sparkling fountain. 'Tis a wonderful dream, and dare I say, it's wonderfully true. |

For those of us that have been in a desert place, know how refreshing it is when our thirst is finally quenched by God. Your poem is truly wonderful. Thank you for reminding me that my thirst will be evenutally quenched but only by the one that loves us the most. |
