He disciplines to correct
~~~
Not out of anger
~~~
He loves unconditionally
~~~
Not because we've done something right
~~~
He's always there for us
whenever we might need him
Whether in the middle of the night
or just anytime at all
~~~
He gets disappointed in us
when we do what we shouldn't
But loves us no less for it
~~~
He rejoices when we do good
~~~
He can understand any difficulty,
torment or hardship we go through
~~~
He's always there to bridge the gap
~~~
He has patience and endurance
Always forgiving an honest heart
for doing wrong
~~~
Time, distance or death
will never seperate him from you
~~~
He always has time to listen
~~~
Always has time to help
~~~
Always teaching life's lessons
Just what we need to know
When we need to know it
~~~
Never puts too much pressure or stress,
but gives only what we can handle
~~~
He is strong for us when we're weak
~~~
He can pull us from the deepest pit
and set us upon the highest mountain
~~~
He will cradle us when we hurt
and guide us through any storm
~~~
He would put himself in your place
and take your torment for you.
*~*~*~*

He did!  He has!
~~~
He has already given His life
*~*~*~
Put himself in our place
~~~
He died to protect us!
*~*~*~
He's done everything for us
~~~
What does this perfect Father ask in return?
~~~
~That we love HIM!~

*~*~*~*

That's it, that's all!
~~~
Love Him as He loved us
*~*~*~
Follow Him
*~*~*~
because His words are true and...
His love has already been proven.
*~*~*~
Because, He's God!
~~~
Our Perfect Father!
*~*~*~*

He was the model for my earthly father.  The difference is that God loves everyone in that manner.  My daddy had enough to do with just the seven.  I like your poem.  Joyce

AMEN!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

WhtDove:  Wonderful poem and reminds us all, that no matter what shortcomings are found in earthly fathers, we always have One who is Perfect in every way.

White Dove,

I am sooooooo glad that He is my Daddy!  Your poem is an excellent check list for reference by fathers.   To be like Him would be a marvelous thing.   I checked to see how I compared and I fell exceedingly short, but I still strive for perfection in Christ anyway.

lol songbird. Thank you.

Joyce if that was his model, then he made the best choice he could.   Thank you Joyce!

Ellie  ...for sure.

Exactly Betty, exactly!

Good for you Bob! But don't be too hard on yourself, we all fall short. We just do the best we can. Thank you!

Wonderful reminder that no earthly father is perfect, but we all have a heavenly Father who is.  Nicely done!
Thank you,
