Fading Away

This is a day late, I wanted to post this on Easter. Oh well. Happy late Easter everyone The shouting crowds are gathered here Around a single man. They yell at him and spit on him, Yet very still he stands. They beat this man and taunt him so; They cause him so much pain. But the angry crowds don't care; They continue, unashamed. They spit on him and yell at him; They nail him to a cross. And many did not realize That he had not yet lost. For as the soldiers walked away, He turned his face above. "Father, forgive them," I heard him say; His eyes were full of love. And while I watched him lose his breath, Blood flowing down the cross, The tears flowed down my face as well; I couldn't make them stop. This man would have to die today, But I would get to live. I wondered why it was for me, His own life he would give. The tears flowed freely down my face, And I fell to my knees. And as the sky grew dark and gray, My Savior heard my pleas. "Lord, you know I have sinned a lot; And I can't understand Why in my place on this great day, It's you who has to die. "I really don't deserve this love, That you so freely give. I pray that you will show me now How you wish for me to live. "I'll give up everything for you, I'll serve you as I can. I'm sorry, Lord, for all I've done, I'm glad you had a plan." And as my Savior breathed his last, Hot tears rolled down my face. I heard him speak once more - "I go to prepare you a place. "In three days I will rise again, Don't be ashamed to cry; For by the blood I shed for you, You will not have to die." --Marie subconsciously, i think i can eat so much to make my stomach hurt, instead of my heart. |

Marie; Thank you for writing of His Love in such a beautiful way that could only come straight from your heart. Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
