God sent Him down, his greatest Gift,
Black sin from mankind's soul to lift.
Do I forget to praise His name
The wondrous Son, to earth who came?
Angels were singing of his birth.
Church bells were ringing o'er the earth.
The shepherds and the wisemen too,
Traveled so far this child to view.

Have I forgotten the awe of it,
The wonder and the love in it?
How could God give His only Son,
To suffer and to die for one
As low and sinful as I am.
He sacrificed his precious Lamb.
I bow my head in humble shame
And praise aloud His Holy name.

On Easter, though I join the feast
Of eggs, and roasts and rolls from yeast,
Let me remember why this day
Is sanctified in every way.
I ask you Lord upon my knees
Listen for my sorrowful pleas.
Forgive for the black day that spring,
When mankind crucified my King.

This was excellent! It reminds me of a song from Point of Grace called God Forbid.

I'll send ya the words to it, and you'll see what I mean.
