I wrote this at Indian John Hill rest area south of Snoqualmie Pass in Washington State, on my trip home today.  I plan to be back to read and comment after choir rehearsal tonight.

Ever In You
Virginia Salter

Encircled am I
as His majesty rises
snow-capped to timberline,
ringed in cumulus
domed in cerulean.

Chills of spring breezes
fan one’s countenance
pulling up-hoods,
clutching up coats,
wresting my journey to pause.

Yet I must break free
from the peace of this hour.
Moving ever forward
toward the goal
set at my feet.

Bidding adieu to you,
lovely nature of woods,
and  you, time of solitude
traveling on, heading home,
trusting in Your presence.

In awe of You
oh, Lord of my life!

Well done!  I think you created a wonderful picture here, it drew me right in.  I love your style of poetry, I'll be sure to check out more of your work in the future too!

I am familiar with Snoqualamie Pass, as we use it to go to the Coast, from Northern Idaho. You have captured so much of the atmosphere, when stopping there and looking at the beauty around. Really nice!

This is inspired.  I live in Washington State and I know how inspiring the beauty of this Northwest corner can be.  Joyce

Thank you Allen for that comment and  !!!

And Trillium, I'm so happy you have had a chance to see Snoqualmie Pass.  It was raining up to this rest area and a bit after it too, I think.  It was quite a treat to get to have sunshine gleaming from the dome of blue above the ring of clouds encircling the mountains.

Scenes like this just place me full in God's heart and realization of His Absolute Awesomeness!

Times like those sure do make us realize the awesomeness of God, and you've brought that out well!

Great imagery!
Brings a smile, and makes me remember just how much I miss seeing those mountains in Colorado every morning.
