I welcomed my first spring robin today.
I couldn't believe what I'd seen.
I wanted to ask him what brought him so soon
And to find out just where he had been.

He gave me a flip of his tail and flew off
To examine the old apple tree.
He wants to be first to stake a fair claim
For the place that his new nest should be.

Who told him to be such a bright early bird?
There are more than enough worms to go round.
And Who guided him to my tree for his home
As the very best one to be found?

He won't give me an answer, I don't need to ask,
But I watch as he busily seeks
The best site to offer his mate when she comes;
To spend all those nice summer weeks.

Dear friend you are welcome, I'll gladly abide
Your decision what e're it may be.
Your song pays your rent, I'll not charge you a cent
And your diet of worms shall be free.

In this loneliest spring of my life, God sent you
To fill this sad time with some cheer.
He loves me enough to know better than I,
That I needed to see you appear.

I'm glad God has sent you to sing for me now.
As always He knew what was best.
I'm thankful, delighted and utterly charmed;
That you've chosen my tree for your nest.

Joyce~
Just beautiful !

'In this loneliest spring of my life, God sent you
To fill this sad time with some cheer.
He loves me enough to know better than I,
That I needed to see you appear.'

And upon a robin's note
I must sing - the song you wrote
Lovely lilting melody
Thank you for sharing this one with me.

*Hugs*

Ah, I'm so glad to hear so much hope and joy at His wonders for you. In the bleakest hours He comforts us and His Love never fails! Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Aw, I can just see Mr. Robin red breast perched in your apple tree.  God only knows our every need, and so silently makes us fully aware, He's there.  Bless you,  Rae
