He was a boy to please the eye
and light your heart. I wonder why
We lost him in his tender years?
Some sorrows go too deep for tears.
Upon his bike he used to ride
with happy smiles. It was his pride.
The speeding driver didn't see
him at the crossing until he
was hit and flying through the air.
We never saw him lying there,
but still, I can't go by that place
without remembering his face.
His mother, when the trooper came,
felt he was gone but just the same
she clung to hope. They drove away.
She heard the dispatch, D.O.A.
and in emergency she found
her only son. Without a sound,
she gathered up his broken frame,
then wept and moaned and called his name.
No answer came.

Yet in the midst of grief, we found
a sudden peace that was profound.
This tragedy, we knew He shared
and even more, how much He cared.
I may not ever understand
but we are held within His hand
and so you see, an answer came.
Life is the picture. God's the frame!

Betty this had made my eyes fill with tears, and my heart just ache.

It has to be very difficult to deal with such tragedy.
God is the frame as well as the glue that holds us together during times of suffering.

God bless ya Betty!

Betty, I'm so sorry for your tragic loss, yet greatly encouraged by the strength of your faith.  One day, I believe, you'll be together forever.  I'll use this piece today to help my grandkids be careful on their bikes.  God bless you for sharing your innermost feelings.

I am very sorry about about this loss. It's so sad.
I pray for each person that has suffered the loss of a child. It's the most heart rending loss imaginable.
My prayer is that God will tenderly hold the ones who grieve in his loving arms each day.

Whtdove, sandgrain,:  Thank you for your expressions of sympathy and caring.  This is not a recent loss, but still hurts to talk or write about it.  It was a long time before I could.  God was our ever-present strength and still is!
