Did you already know
     the moment you were conceived
that new life was born
     to those who believed?

Did you already know
     in Mary's womb
that in 33 years
     your death would loom?

Did you already know
     at birth that your coming sacrifice
would enable us to live
     with you in paradise?

Did you already know
     in the manger
that God's plan was
     your death for me, a stranger?

Did you already know then
     that 2000 years since
people still come with their sins
     that only your blood can rinse?

Lord, you already knew
     then that I would say
Praise God for the birth of his son
     on this Christmas day!!!

Praise the Lord exactly Hallelujah! He did know what He was put here for! I don't know if I knew ahead of time what my life entailed if I would be able to carry through with something like He's done for us! So I thank God he gives us only what we need to know, when we need to know it! Very well done Mirjam!

I really loved this and it really helps to know that someone is control. I know I don't want it. He did know and He carried thru. I don't think I'd have that much fortitude. Thanks for posting this.

Wonderful writing! As we read or see movies on Jesus' life, it takes on a whole new perspective realizing throughout, He was aware of the crosswork still to come. Also, every once in a while I'm again startled with the reality that He WILLINGLY did it.

You guys have got me intrigued - what is this song Mary did you know? I so want to hear it now!!!! Thanks for the replies - isn't it amazing how He did carry through with it all even knowing the pain He would have to suffer for us - willingly - blows me away too!
