When first I woke, I didn't know The lovely gift GOD would bestow. A perfect day awaited me, With golden leaves on every tree And flowers opening to stare As sunshine warmed the morning air. I'd never seen a bluer sky Or whiter clouds go drifting by. I'd never heard a sweeter song From birds who chorused all day long. Each hour held it's own delight To fill my senses and my sight. The sun blew kisses as it went On down the western firmament And threw bright colored nets to snare Unwary stars that sparkled there. Very descriptive! One to make me sigh as I watch the snow cover the ground and everything else around it, once again.
