You’ve done enough for me today,
what can I do for you?
just send me down my chosen path
and tell me what to do.

I know there are a thousand things
that I could do today,
but show me what you need from me
and I’ll be on my way.

You’ve given me a happy home,
and family I adore,
a healthy mind and body,
why should I ask for more?

You’ve blessed me in so many ways
my needs are very few,
you’ve given me enough dear God,
what can I do for you?

Just Love Him back! Wonderfully done!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

I'm glad you didn't pass it up, this was beautiful! You know my eyes about popped out when I read your first two lines.

Bonnie and I were talking about a challenge for here, and I wrote and told her the only thing that's coming to mind is..."What can I do for you today?" It had just popped in there and wouldn't go away.

When I saw it in your poem, it kind of took me by surprise. LOL Weird huh?

This is humble, and just what we should be doing. I think we ask so much of God, but rarely do we stop and think of what we might do for Him instead!! Great reminder to do that.

Whtdove,
That is very strange that I wrote the very lines you were thinking!
(but God does work in mysterious ways doesn't he?)LOL!
I believe that this is my first post ever in this forum but the challenge caught my eye!
I like it here, I'm sure I'll be back!

Romy,

Wow!!!! What a blessing is your heart. Gosh, you make me feel
like a real brat.... Well, not you but my own personal conviction.
I do get caught up in the "ask me" attitude and forget that God
has called me to be a servent.... What can I do for Him and what
can I do for others? You have expressed a wonderful heart attitude
and I do hope that you'll be back. Bob <><

Thanks, just an open heart that's all we need.Well done!

A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes.

An absolutely humbling piece, Romy. The heart of Christ exudes from every word. Beautiful.
