Sing By The River Of Gold
~*~
Down by the river of gold
hands raised high
I'm gonna sing praise to the lamb of God
gonna shout hosanna's high,
when I reach the promise land
gonna sing with an angel band,
down by the river of gold
flowing into the city streets
people running, jumping with joy
God's children
what a beautiful sight

Blooming Rose,

A charismatic experience.... What a beautiful city that will be flowing with the redeemed shouting for joy and praising God.... I certainly look forward to crossing that final river to reach the other side. Bob <><

I look forward to joining you in song one day along this river my friend. Such beautiful visions you have painted with your words. Loved the read and the reminder of what we shall inherit when we give our lives over to Christ.

I have found in you ... a reflection of me ...
and a path to the peace I have sought.

Wonderful images of hope and final joy! Can't wait to meet all my friends here at spiritual there!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

I could hear the choir singing a glorious vibrant shout.

The last two lines leave the established rhythm a bit, unless it's just the way I'm reading it, probably is.

I truly love the excitement of the piece!

It's got imagery and flair. I like it. Got the rhythm of a great joyous almighty "negro spiritual" right out of the exuberant rural down south glorious book-a-GOD.

preach it mistuh, preach it sistuh

Just like one of the old spiritual songs we used to sing at revival camp. Thanks for the memory. Joyce

robin~ Well... I am from the south, spirit filled and full of joy, so what ever ya want to call it! It's all good, and straight from God. Thanks for reading.

Joyce~ I am glad you like this. You know if you had it once, it does not have to be just a memory. I know you know, from what I read in your poetry.
