I awake some mornings with a sense
Of loneliness.. even sadness, unexplained;
When thoughts of my Lord suddenly appear…
And how, never once, He complained

Of the loneliness He was called on to bear,
But faced His days bravely and unafraid
Of being rejected one more time, and yet
His love for others seemed not to fade.

My sadness then suddenly disappears
As these comforting words are brought
To remembrance even thru my tears;
At times when I had so often sought

For a better life than this world offers;
A world that cannot possibly understand:
"I will never leave thee nor forsake thee”
He says to me..with outstretched hand.

And so I take His hand that’s offered
In love, knowing He understands and cares;
And on days when these feelings arise
I have the assurance that He will be there.

To speak to me, gently as the wind blows;
As a father speaks to his hurting child.
Making the hurt and the pain disappear
Until with Him I am once again reconciled.

What a wonderful thing it is to know that Someone is always there for you! And how beautifully you have written it, my friend!

To love another person is to see the face of God.

you truly have an awsome gift for poetry! This is just how Jesus comforts me and aren't we so very blessed?

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

I feel every line, very touching and true. We are blessed by the father and what a good father he is!

A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes.

twilah,

What a blessing to know that God became flesh and dwelt among us so we may know that he knows beyond our doubts and fears exactly what we are going through,
even our lonelyness....... Very reassuring are your words. Bob <><

Bob...I am so grateful that God is there in our loneliness and fears. Just to be able to share with him what is on our hearts..and know he is listening and cares...thank you for your comment.....
