Why did the Good Lord tell us
To consider the ant and her ways?
What is He trying to tell us
About the message He conveys?

If you begin to consider
The things that an ant will do
Try to apply those principals
In the things of life you pursue

You soon begin to take notice
There's not much that stands in her path
Though obstacles are thrown at her
She's never defeated in wrath

She's always busy and working
Never seems to get delayed
She simply alters her path
But never is she dismayed.

Whatever you lay before her
A stick in her path on the ground
It certainly will not stop her
She simply just turns around

Look at our human frailties
To the ant we can't compare
When something is in our path
We sit in total despair

Do we try to move forward
Or try a different avenue?
We hinder upon our failure
Sit depressed, lonely and blue

We easily get frustrated
When obstacles get in our way
Instead of trying to move them
I think we just need to pray

I know not what the future holds,
but I know Who holds the future.

I don't question YOUR existance - GOD

Becky,
You have done a fine job here to bring out the message of the wise man, As given in Proverbs 6:6ff. Your several verses show that you have given this much thought, and share with us many worthy ideas.  How easily we get sidetracked or allow ourselves to be discouraged or defeated.--How much we can learn from God's creation!!!
Thank you for the beautiful reminder.
             David

No Better Place do I know
Than where Hearts knit as
one,
For in that grand
experience,
The Better ALL become.

God Bless us All!!!

White Dove,

Spiritually, as Christians, I think that we are very much like the ant......
We need to carry many times our own weight upon our shoulders at times,
and you are absolutly correct in your analysis...... we do rely on God for help.

Your poem is a wonderful analogy of the ant.   Bob <><

David so right you are! Thank you so much.

Ellie, I'm glad it came at the right time
*this is a repost from a while ago, though I put the full the title and (repost) up there, it must have been too long, and it's not showing*

Bob I don't agree with you in one point. I don't think we need to carry the weight of our problems, but I think we do anyway.

That's why Jesus' burdens are light, we're supposed to put on His yoke.
But, I do see where you're coming from.

If anyone's ever really took the time to sit down and watch an ant, it's amazing. It just makes you start think. If you lay an object down in the ants path, it doesn't get discouraged and sit down and cry, it goes around, or over or whatever it has to do to get where it's going.

I think sometimes we need not let the pebbles of life stand in our way. Spiritually or otherwise.

God bless ya all!

Just remembering a gal who bore more weight on her shoulders than was humanly possible, but also knowing she had help   Blessings sent to Rebecca in heaven, and her family on this her 2nd year away from us in body, but not in heart, or soul.
