It started as a tiny seed -
God's patented design;
an embryonic certainty
adrift on wings of time.

It searched for fertile pastures
to extend its sturdy roots;
and humankind rejoiced to see
the growth of simple truths.

So Faith began to flourish
in the warmth that it received;
its tensile strength rebounding
when attacked by disbelief.

But progress scorned its worth
to please sophisticated needs,
and spiritual discernment bowed
to power-hungry greed.

The Faith that carried pioneers
through hardship, pain and loss,
lies trampled under instant dreams
that carry hidden costs.

Accomplishments are hollow
and our luxuries are cold,
if we don't keep the seed of Faith
alive within our souls.

Your poem is filled with insight and instruction and I will try to heed your warning..........  I do agree that we do need to keep Faith alive........It is at times very difficult to have Christian Faith believing God still supplies our every need according to His riches and glory when we live in a time when our needs are seemingly supplied instantly as your poem suggests......... but, today I will humble myself and say thank you to God for supplying my next breath and the desire to do a mighty work for Him.  God Bless You,  Bob <><

This is amazing!  I love it!  That is an important lesson that we all need to be reminded of and remember.  I really like the last few lines!

I think this verse speaks clearly of the truth about keeping faith alive in all we do.
For without faith we have little hope.
Love this poem much!
