I'm leaving my light on for Him
Don't know how soon he will return,
So if my Friend should tarry
Into the night- He'll still see it burn.

The Darkness is so pervading
In it many stumble and fall,
So I'll keep my light still glowing
To welcome Him when He calls.

That's the least I could do for Him
He's been such a Blessing to me,
And I want others to know it
So here's a light, for all to see!

Yes, the Savior is comming
The Children of Light to take home,
To where the sun's no longer needed
The Light that shine's is all His Own.

Until that glorious day's dawning
When His Brightness shall light up the sky,
I'll leave my light on for Him
Hoping that He won't pass me by!

I love this! It is so beautiful, simple, and true! You are a wonderful poet. Thank you for this reminder, and perspective in looking at what the "dark" situations are. Have a wonderful Christmas!

This is a very comforting and challenging thought... I can only imagine what the Light will be like when we reach Heaven.... Illuminating I am sure. God Bless You My Friend, Bob <><

I like this one a lot. Good thinking here. We are the salt and light of the earth, but we also shine to God, showing Him that we still love Him, and are faithful to Him and his words
