A Country Christmas

Fields like glistenin' diamonds
Are blanketed in snow
Gold n' silver packages
All tied up with a bow

Trees are set in houses
The family gathers round
Steaming mugs of chocolate
The tree top now is crowned

Streets of busy people
In windows stop to stare
Snow shows off its color
From festive lights hung there

Carolers are singing
A Savior's melody
Hooves of horse with buggy
Complete the symphony

Graceful are the skaters
Who dance on frozen pond
And stir the feathered snow
When blade and ice do bond

It's a Country Christmas
The town folk all are cheered
'Cause on this magic night
A miracle appeared

Could almost hear sleigh bells and feel my nose stinging as Jack Frost nips at it. It's a beautiful picture of Christmastime and I especially like the ending.."cause on this magic night a miracle appeared."  It's a real keeper!

Ruth, all that stuff is still there, I'd just rather not think about it. I hope it brings a smile, and the rememberance of the simple things that bring joy.
Love ya Lady!!

I agree with the others that this would make a perfect Christmas card.  Add one of Norman Rockwell's country paintings to this and you got it made.  This was a lovely read and I am printing it to keep it around.  Hope you don't mind.  Happy Holidays to you and may God bless you with the love he gave us that night so long ago.
