Let me be a child again
At least within my heart,
Give me a sense of my lowliness
And a meek and trusting heart.

Renew within me all those things
You prize within Your Child,
Honesty and uprightness
Love strong, and a spirit, mild!

Give me a child's wonder
And a glorious sense of awe,
As I behold Your Splendor--
Thou Most Glorious of all!

Cleanse me with Thy Precious Blood
From all that would defile,
And may I find a Lullabye
In your warm, accepting Smile.

May I never be too old
To be Thy Child, so blessed,
By the youthful Fountain of Thy Grace
With my need e'er confessed.

Being a child again with all the innocence and wonder is a wonderful wish, spiritual children can to just that, reborn to be a NEW creature, Behold the old things have passed away, all things become new! Beautiful, loving poem!
