When did Santas arrival with reindeer and crew cloud the joy of our Savior, all once knew? When did tinsel and spiked punch replace The boundless joy of His saving grace? When did the joy of giving gifts turn from pleasant surprises to order lists? When did joys celebration of our Saviors birth Get reduced to dictates of monetary worth? When did we change the beauty of 'Silent Night' to mistletoe merrymaking of drink food and lights? And from giving Jesus the greatest place of all To a nativity piece used to deck our hall? How sad He was rejected by His own. We're each His own if the truth be known! We who ask all year for His protection, celebrate His birthday while we reject Him. Sad carols sing of no room at the inn, While spacious homes still have no room for Him. They're renaming Christmas, "Winter Holiday", as He remains a stranger in the manger to those He came to save. |

Welcome to Passions, Sandgrain! Sad but true for many people. We all can only each make Christmas what we want to make of it! Wonderful poem. Full of truth. Denise |

Great work! I was just talking about this today with a friend at church. People get caught up in the worldly view of Christmas every year and they forget about what the seasons all about. I pray every night that the people of the world will realize that this is a time to rejoice about the birth of our savior and not the materialistic giving and getting part. Once again... great writing, hope to see more. Welcome to Passions. Jer *~* Come work for the Lord. The work is hard, the hours are long and the pay is low. But the retirement benefits are out of this world. *~* |

You may be a greenhorn on the computer, but you have a heart of gold and a message to deliver. Thanks for reminding all of us of the true meaning of Christmas. I can tell your heart is disturbed by the exit from the truth. God truly must love you because you have a faithful heart unto the truth. I can see the disappointment of God portrayed in your words. Welcome to the Spiritual forum. God Bless You and may we have more poems to read like this one.(Packing a Punch to uphold the Truth) A man's heart often cannot see the light - because of the darkness of it's own motives.... - James David |

Sandgrain, this is exactly what our Pastor preached about today. Maybe it is sign (for me), cause I know I get caught up way too much in the worldy view of Christmas and tend to not always remember what it is truly about! (Accept from September till, well today this year, when we do our performance at church). Thanks for another reminder (maybe God thought I wasnt paying too much attention this morning LoL, or that I just needed another reminder other than my pastor. Great poem! It touched me if you hadnt noticed! ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. But a place of torment because the light of God is gone. To escape this, accept the blood of Jesus Christ! ~*~ |

Wow, great poem about a great topic. I was working on a poem called "X-Mas, Christ is Missing from Christmas" even as I read this. Strong message. Welcome to Passions. Michael |

I Thank each and everyone of you for responding. I really appreciate it, and feel so warmed if I had something someone else could relate to. Posed another on Holiday forum, "Christmas preparation". |
