Words from the Devout My eyes are wide with sight, but not the sight of ordinary Love has come to blind me, replacing simplicity for complex Vision of hearts entwined in the wake of passion and desire And all the fires that burn within us. You, my angel of the morning, the night, of the future Whose beauty is unlike any other and I can not deny you Anything, yet I want to keep you for myself, deny you the Freedom any wild spirit deserves, but each time you Spread your wings and take to the sky my heart breaks. Promise me that in the moment your wings fold, and your head lays Low to rest, it will be me in your thoughts, no other Lie to me, if you must, to keep me hoping that even time Can not separate us, can not build any wall to widen and thicken Barring you from my touch. And should I lose my path, I know that yours will find me soon And guide me through, as my eyes are clear and my hand rest Over my heart, within your palm and there is no greater love Than the love between a man and his god. Dragonpoe; How enchantingly lovely and romantic is your poem. I had to read it twice to get the full measure of it's beauty. Welcome to Spiritual! I surely look forward to reading more, you are a gifted poet. Ellie Belief is a truth held in the mind; faith is a fire in the heart. Joseph Fort Newton |

WELCOME! This really caught my attention from beginning to end. The end is not what I expected to see, and so those final few words really stuck with me. Excellent way to end it with words that are SO true! I'm glad to see you posting! ![]() |
