Dayshine is trying to break through
A thick veil of fog this morn,
An icy frost is slathered,
As another new day is born.
Right now it's looking pretty bleak,
As dawn struggles to arrive,
But soon enough the haze will lift,
And nature will come alive.
Barren trees stand shivering,
Through the morning's frozen dew,
Glistening limbs seem trembling,
As they reach for the warmth of You.
Nesting squirrels fill their cheeks,
And run up the slippery bark,
Stockpiling for the winter,
Those long, cold nights in the dark.
The bunnies seemed dressed for winter,
Their fur looking so thick and soft,
While deer are hiding from hunters,
Who sit in the trees aloft.
A perfect formation of geese fly by,
Gliding as if on a breeze,
Heading south for the next few months,
Down where the water won't freeze.
Your world is changing seasons,
Seems autumn has gone too soon,
For the only light this early hour,
Is the fading morning moon.
But maybe soon the sun will shine,
And the frost will melt away,
And You will turn this gloomy morn,
Into a beautiful day.

Dear Bonnie; It seems that you and I are deep into our respective surroundings and seeing through our spiritual hearts, all His promise and His Love. I always knew we were poet sisters in our spirits, didn't you? This poem is exquisite, as your poems always are! Love, Ellie

This is beautiful, it paints a lovely picture of morning. A choice we are given, we can either look at the world through our eyes, and see the gloom and the cold, or we can look at the world through our spirits, and see the beauty of Gods art work.I thank you for looking through your spirit, and sharing your beautiful view with us.

Hi Bonnie,
I think you and Ellie were on spiritual poetic link this morning. From the Indian Summer to the perfect shape of geese flying on a gloomy morn awaiting God's sun to shine.  Somehow, I see you just as thankful, if the sun sneaks back in.   This is a beautiful poem with some great visuals.  Enjoyed.  Marcy

Bonnie, this was a delightful read as you share your morning with us in hope and anticipation.  I especially like how you ended it:
"And You will turn this gloomy morn,
Into a beautiful day."
  This is just wonderful,   David

Love your personification of dawn struggling as we all do to get through the cold, dark fog and once again bask in the beauty of God's light.  Thank you so much for sharing your great talent.
