3 Boys

In summer night's dream in shadow watch I
Neath rippling stream of wind swept sky--
Three boys journey on as clouds roll by
In search of new beginnings.

On narrow walked path on temporal sod
Strolling life's hillside with fishing rods--
Six feet trample past with Glory of God
In search of new beginnings.

Of lasting memories of youth they write
On pages enduringly scrolled in light--
Three hearts Spirit filled as is my sight
In search of new beginnings.

Bob, this was a wonderful vision as I recall some of those moments from my very own childhood.  Beautifully serene.

You just painted a Norman Rockwell with words. Enjoyed it very much as the vision lingers.

Wonderful picture Bob! Can't say it brought back memories LOL, but I love the solitude of fishing....the peace and serenity while waiting.  Sweet piece.

Mark,

Glad I was able to revive some childhood memories for you...  It's always good to reflect especially on the big catches.

Alle'cram,

I am so happy to have my work admired by you even though I do make so many mistakes.  (uhm, I had to make a few changes from what you reflected back to me...)  You know what they say about the iron sharpening iron.  Thanks for bringing them out as I read your reply.

Septsong,

Norman Rockwell? What an incredible compliment...  Well, Rockwell did do a lot of sketches before painting his masterpieces, so I suppose that I could be a Norman Rockwell in the sketching stage...

White Dove,

What, no fishing memories?  Now, I was for sure that you were one of those pesty sisters that kept throwing stones in the fishing hole scaring all the fish away...

God Bless Everyone and Thank You for Your Generous Relpies,  Bob <><

Hopefully those 3 little fellows grew up to be fishers of men, too, Bob.  Nice poem as are all.  Thanks, Rae

A Sandgrain,

OK, here is the rest of the story...
A friend of mine showed me a picture of his 3 boys walking on a trail during their recent fishing trip... so, this is not a long distant memory of mine as supposed.  But, I do believe that those young boys will surely grow up to be fishers of men someday.  God Bless You, Bob <><

A memory of yours or not, it sure did bring back some for me.....yes, throwing stones to scare the fish!  With 3 older brothers, I didn't stand a chance...and this, sure did remind me of them.  Bonnie

Bonnie,

Though this poem was not inspired by my memories, it does bring back memories for me as well... especially some special childhood days with my dad as together we fished of the rocks in the Pacific Ocean.  I am glad that you were reminded of your childhood days and your three older berothers.  So, you used to throw rocks to cause quite a commotion... This is interesting insight for sure, Bob <><

LightHouseBob~
Well, now I can wet a line with the best of them !

My brothers and I spent many days at the
edge of the lake with big catches.

I also was reminded of -
I shall make you fishers of men

Thanks for the memoried stroll to the lake !

Marge,

Wet a line is a great double pun as in words and fishing.  I loved it!  Now, regarding fishers of men, those fishies that you and your brothers caught out of that lake must have been pretty darn BIG indeed.  Thank you for your good humor and your Love for Christ, Bob <><
