hey, this is my first post somewhere other than the pub! i hope no one minds my "repost", but as i was reading this again in the pub to respond to a couple replies, i rememebered this forum where i could have posted it in instead..so, thought i'd get brave and move out of the pub tonite ![]() ----------------------------------------------- a bottle of light he brought to me and asked me to open my eyes-- but i was afraid; for so long i had been in darkness. one day, i closed my eyes. then there was reason-- reason for the darkness! and it made sense. and i understood it. i became comfortable in it-- then he came... a bottle of light he offered to me. a plain old bottle it seemed, only it was sealed with the permanence of no mortal man. and the light, he told me, was meant to shine forever. open your eyes, he said. and he held my hand. so i opened my eyes. and i jumped up, and i ran-- for i could see! i could see! and then, i was afraid to close my eyes-- ever, ever again... -dgvarner "i'm growin'/ i dont like it/ i'm growin' and it hurts/ i love you/ but i'm tired/ i guess i've got a lot to learn..." -w. watson |

Interesting poem, I had to read it more than one time, and I think I could still go back and read it again. A bottle of light, bottled sunshine, bottled Prozac at least we know the answer doesn't lie with bottled booze. Like I said interesting poem, got to go back and read it again. |

Hey dg, nice to see ya here! This is a wonderful piece. Isn't it great to feel the freedom when we finally see that light.... and to know that even with our eyes closed, that light will always be there! Terrific job. Bonnie |

Welcome! I missed this one on the pub. I like the analogy you portray. Bonnie is right, once you know His light, there is no turning back, all then is counted as joy!Beautiful message! Ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |
