Well this isn't so much a thank you for the poem Severn wrote me, but a poem about her which her poem inspired me to write - I hope to capture the amazement i find in her strenth and endurance. I thought she'd arrive in a parcel marked FRAGILE - the box had been kicked around a bit - but the signage was misleading - the contents secure and in place. I thought she'd want to lie down and sleep, - surely she'd be weary after these troubled weeks - but she said so carefree no I'll be fine - I can still run another mile and I looked in wonder at her brave smile. I thought she'd give up and loose all hope - surely it was all too much - but no she said I've still got 2% coping mechanism left - laughed and simply worked on increasing that figure. I thought she'd need time to think of just herself - surely there'd be no room for anything else but how are YOU she persisted to ask and I stared in awe at her servant's heart. I think of her and smile, for she too is a blessed light that shines my way, with friendship, love and joy - a heart at times covered in despair, but also courage-coated hope-haloed endurance-endowed strength-saturated & love-lined. (K have you read 'footprints?' if you haven't remind me to get you a copy). PS Ditto to the last 3 lines of 'mirjam' my friend. [This message has been edited by mirjam (edited 12-01-1999).] |

Oh wow. And you thought I made you cry? Hon - this is so lovely, and so humbling. What can I do to thank you? I'll give you a squishy hug when I next see you - if you can fit me in between your 3 jobs!!!! This just means so much and that you see all that in me is just...amazing!!!!!  Love you Mirjam. Friends like you guys are a true blessing indeed! Amazing the things others can see in us, that we don't see in ourselves. And I bet that everything she's said here holds to be very true! |

*sniff* me cry too...There are very few friendships like this, so when you find one, it is always wonderful to know each other is appreciated. These poems have given me a new light into being more thankful for the friends I do have, thank you! ------------------ ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. Severn - you definately owe me a squishy hug - i definately will find time for you - you don't need to thank me - and i'm just sorry i couldn't fit in everything i wanted to write about you in one tiny poem - perhaps i'll just have to write another few whenever i get inspired next!!! Glad you liked it. Luv ya back. Wtdove - you're absolutely right!! It is amazing the things others see in you - and often you don't see it in yourself and find it hard to accept - i'm humbled that kamla has. Michael - you're also absolutely right. Thank you for the blessing you guys all are too!!! Echo - glad we could bring out your feelings of appreciation - i think it's so easy to take for granted the blessing friendship can be, and yes it is nice to know how much a friend can mean - gives you such warm fuzzies doesn't it - big thanks again K.
