In church today the pastor said something that so struck me during the service, I had to get out a pen and a scrap of paper to wrote down a few thoughts that so easily became what I'm going to give you, straight from my heart. The statement the pastor made was: "God saves our prayers" Poems Are Like Prayers I wondered today that poems are like prayers from the deepest meditations of our souls. We write full of hope that someone will respond. We pour from the depths of our spirits wondering if anyone reads our thoughts; wondering if anyone thinks our words are worthy to save. Sometimes, we receive a small kiss of joy, of acknowledgement. Other times, we feel as though we are starved and depraved. But, I wondered today that poems are like prayers and each work, He has bound in the finest book of leather and placed them into His private collection where they will last for all eternity, a collection in which we are each His most treasured author And He is our greatest fan. I hope you enjoy! Janie |

Janie, This is so wonderful a meditation. It seems so many have been so anxious about making Ron's Book- we have forgotten how loving and thoughtful the Heavenly Father is toward us and our humble works in His Service. What a beautiful Picture of God noticing, saving, and enshrining our poems of praise in His Own Special Treasure Book, as His own favorite writers. A welcoming & beautiful thought indeed! Thank you for sharing it with us. David "GOD GIVES- but man must open his hand." (German Proverb) |

Prayers are like poems and (some) poems are like prayers, we put into words that which comes from the soul, and some poems are prayers. I've written a few of those. This is just a lovely expression of a thought we wouldn't have had, had you not shared this with us Just lovely Liz |

Janie; What a heavenly thought! His is the only book and He the only publisher we ever need. You really did a beautiful job on this one! Ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Janie, What wonderful insight and encouragement you have given us through your beautiful poem. This is a wonderful share and a reminder that it is to Him and for Him, that our poems/prayers are created and hopefully will allow others to worship Him through any inspiration our words may inspire, just as yours' has. Thank you so much, I appreciate this new knowledge. Marcy |

You know I never thought of it this way! I love this thought! This is quite the gift, and I thank you! We may not always get praise from people, but we are always praising the Lord. I'm sure it makes Him smile! This is really great! Thanks for bringing my thoughts down a new avenue ![]() |

I agree with White Dove,I had never really thought that God may be looking down and seeing what we write for Him.I have always written,to try and get His message and His deeds noticed by man,and have never really thought that I may be pleasing Him in the process.Thank you so very much for the reminder,I will think of this each time I write now. |

To all, I'm glad you like it. Since the pastor made that statement and I've written this, I actually "see" God printing up each of my poems on his printer and placing them into my very own special book just as I see Him doing the same with all of yours. Janie |
