The Meteorite A meteorite approaching earth Gave cause for grave alarm As nations banned together To protect the world from harm Everyone became aware Of the planet’s fated plight And looked to help their neighbors And those that could not fight Each day it traveled nearer And each day a brighter light Had mesmerized the entire globe But not with panicked fright A strange and wondrous feeling Had blanketed the earth It was as though each living soul Felt one another’s worth As though a lovely woven veil Fell gently from above Covering the entire world With peacefulness and love The meteorite came closer yet And they stood, but not in fear Each person demonstrated love As the end was drawing near Love and peace poured from the earth At this sight so strange and odd But it was not a meteorite It was the face of God It was the very first time In the history of mankind That every soul was looking up To God at the same time. Liz - Oh wouldn't that be a sight to behold! How beautifully you have written this scene, it was as if I could see it all happening. Just wonderful. Bonnie |

I love it! What a wonderful thing that would be if that could happen. Liz, What a different but marvelous comparasion - of impending doom versus loving fellowship and anticipation of the Lord's coming again in Righteousness. Truly uplifting and inspiring--comming together to face the challenges- instead of falling apart in cringing fear. I am awed, David |

The coming together theme in this poem is nice..but I doubt if it'll happen like this. In fact, scripture informs us that many will run and cry, 'rocks fall on us'.. the imagery is certainly heart warming though. Thanks. |
