While We Slept While we slept our bodies grew, Mice and racoons hunted food, Fireflies flashed their mating lights And someone made a sacrifice. While we slept our world turned upside down, In stars, new planets were found, We dreamed of fears or angels at play, While God readied us for another day. While we slept all plants were covered with dew, Skunks came out and black bats flew, Someone died and a birth took place, All because of God's boundless grace. |

such a lovely concept. A hidden moral here. He can take care of all our needs if we but only "sleep", as in "let go and let God"! You have written a lovely and very wise poem. thank you! Love, ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Sandgrain, this is a peaceful and joyful piece. We can rest while the world goes on, because He whoi keepeth Israel neither slumbereth nor sleepth- and yet he calls the weary to rest. Thanks for this lovely piece, David |

Hi sandgrain, Great job! I have read this one several times and each time pulled a different train of thought from it. Wonderfully written and you allow me to meditate on not knowing what tomorrow holds, or the next hour. Loved it. Marcy |

This reminds me of the night that Jesus was born. As a miracle was happening and we all just slept on, without notice to what was going on. I really enjoyed this one much Mom! God bless you and HUGS. |

Thanks to all who read this and enjoyed it. WhtDove, I wasn't thinking of the night Jesus was born as I wrote this, but you're right it was an ordinary night of slumber to many. Glad everyone picked up on the message of God caring for all things while He's caring for us even though we're totally unaware. |
