THE OLD CLOTHES

There comes a time in life
when we all must make a choice
do we keep the old clothes of the past
or do we find newness through God's voice

My life has been a hell for sure
yes it is time for me to find Christ
I will ask Jesus into my heart
for I am so tired of this miserable life

Lord I am picking up my old clothes
and I am placing them out the door
for only the new clothes of Christ am I wearing
old and dirty can't live here any more

The old clothes smell of past hurts and pains
they are tattered,torn and stained
new clothes I am placing in my closet
the true words of God that Never change

The filty rags of my past
have always weighed me down
but through the grace of Jesus
all I need now to clothe me is His Crown

No more opening the closet
of what the devil tempts me with
God gives me the strength to shut the door
with a mere push of my foot

For in the new clothes
My Christ Jesus gave to me
I have the knowledge of warfare
and eyes to look at satan that really see

So hurry don't you want to
get rid of all the old clothes in your life
isn't it a wonderful gift new clothes
given to you in love by Jesus Christ

Take out the pride shirt
and throw it away
take out the greedy pants
and find that giving is the way

Place the sinful shoes outside
that have led you astray
place your feet on Holy Ground
carrying the cross of Christ this day

Clean and search check the whole house
look deep inside yourself
and make sure the past is behind you
So that Only Christ is found in Your New Self
