Pure venom from vain lips they only give Revealing depths of emptiness within Contention is the god for whom some live Sight blinded still by blight of Adam's sin. Impressive to themselves their knowledge fine An argument is pressed at ev'ry turn The fruit produced ferments to bitter wine A vile brew the meek in spirit spurn. Confusion veils complete with heavy gloom Its pall of death enshrouds the atmosphere As dark as any grave in granite tomb Is there a light at all can shine in here? Eternal God, Your Light hath brightly shown 'Tis You alone can roll away the stone. ------------------ Denise |
