A City Lost Maccu Piccu, wonder wreaks Atop a towering velvet peak A city rests on sacred ground A city lost, a city found To gaze in utter due respect The master Inca architect Tons of boulder, mass of stone Feat of wonder, truth unknown Stone to stone and wall to wall Echoing the spirit's call Sundial points through Inca eyes Revealing mysteries of the skies Trapazoidal window view Begs the eye to wander through Looking down a sheer abyss Into the end of endlessness And there the satin ribbon gleams The Urumbamba rapid streams Carving yet through eon years Majestic verdant mountain spears The beauty cannot be consumed The spirit cannot be exumed To never know the how and why A city built up in the sky Elizabeth Santos |

Wow! You have outdone yourself with this one Elizabeth! Was this inspired by your time spent in Brazil? Very beautiful! Thank you for the trip! ------------------ Denise |

Thanks, Denise. Maccu Piccu is actually in Peru, which today is very difficult to visit, so luckily I was able to go there in my youth and sleep under the stars. Unbelievable! Elizabeth [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 11-27-1999).] |

Elizabeth, I believe the unbelievable. You have achieved the unachievable You have taken us upon your wings And shown to us these wonderful things. I wish again to fly with you To lands unkown and wonders view. |

Sy, I'll gladly take you on a trip To anyplace, to any where And I will fly you to that place That is, as long as I've been there Elizabeth |

Elizabeth, I've been around the world I seek another unfurl. You can see them on the telly But yours are as sweet as jelly. |

As I read your poetry, I feel as if I am standing outside of window being allowed to gaze in on a wonderous room. I almost feel at times like I am eavesdropping on you and Mr. Tabin... wonderful poetry. |

Mike, Don't ever feel you are eavesdropping. I have nothing to hide in a freindship of the minds. Thank you kindly for your remarks Elizabeth |

Sy, This jelly that you speak of Is it that same condiment That you'd wish to have each day With a dish of compliments? Elizabeth |

Excellent, I will not live long enough to see as much of the world as I would like to see. Your verse takes me where I will never be able to go. Thanks. ------------------ Yesterday is history, tomorrow just a mystery. And if today is good to me how could I ask for more? |

Elizabeth - This was a fantastic journey to the land of the Ancient Incas. So much fascination of how it all was done. Messages left by ancient messengers ... carved upon the land. To have slept under the stars at Maccu Piccu has to linger in your memory pages. It is the land of ancient mariners ... foretelling of visions we've yet to behold. Thank you for bringing the images to me. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Lizz, You are getting to read between the line And I think that that is just fine. Your clever answer made me laugh. It folded me right in half. *L* |
