Of verse and time

The favor given this Lockenvar,
For quest he knows forever far.
The spirits willing, the flesh be not.
The spirit will ride, the flesh will rot.

He seeks the lair, old dragon time,
With magic dare of verse and rhyme.
He will not falter till deem be won.
Nor will he alter till deed be done.

The dragon lives, mirrors shadow
Where he feeds upon our marrow.
So subtle is the time exchange,
You hardly feel the slightest change.

He will sing in rhyme to lure out time,
Assuage this dragon with soft enzyme.
Dazzle him on the chasm thin
And there dispose and cast him in.
But if by chance the years do pass
And he over stay the hourglass.
Know he ever stays the quest
Only forever meats the test.

So when you hear some verse and rhyme
You know this knight's enticing time.

Couldn't agree more, Sy. As time passes, we start draggin'! "The spirit's willing, the flesh be not"...I resemble that remark! Good writing, Sy.

He speaks in verse of dragons
Of flesh and lure and rhyme
His words convey his passions
As he speaks of shadow and time

Little does the poet know
He bares not the curse alone
Master Seymore can't you see
We've all dragons of our own

Some we lock up deep inside
Some we battle out in rhyme
Display our words in poetry
That stands the test of time

No matter what our dragons
This much I know is true
'Tis far easier to fight them
When friends they fight with you

Another nice one Seymore

Ruth,
Loved your reply. And something strange I've also noticed, sometimes your own verse will reflect inner thoughts that you weren't even aware of, until someone else pointed them out.
Then when you go back and read your poetry, you think - Did I write that? Very strange
Ruth, have so enjoyed all of your latest poetry. It's wonderful.
And Sy, I have no words

Elizabeth

Balladeer,
Your answers always delight me, thank you.
ThUnDeRKyes,
Thank you for the wonderful.
Hoot,
Buddha could not say it better.
You pointed out every letter.
Your poems a delight
Every time you write.
Elizabeth
That you have no words I don't believe
Why you have words hidden in your sleeve.
And the praise you say
Just delights my day. *L*

Good line, Sy - Of course so are all the rest...
