The Memory Garden ~Marge Tindal~ 1999 I linger in the memory garden, because I find you there. Each yellow rose that I pick, reminds me of your golden hair. The flowers that I see, whether yellow, pink or white, remind me of the times you held me and made my world seem right. The fragrance of the rose reminds me the most of you. You always loved the roses, no matter what the hue. Today in the friendship garden, I saw a butterfly, I knew that for just a moment your spirit came fluttering by. I'll think of you dear mother, as I gather a big bouquet. I'll take your memories with me, and put them on display. I'll arrange the lovely flowers, and place them in a vase, when I gaze upon them ... I'll remember your smiling face. For you taught me to love the flowers, planted in the garden of love. I'm sure that you'll be watching over me from the friendship garden above. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanksgiving thoughts of my mother, Beverly Drury Cowart Adams. Here too short ... gone too long. Her earthly talisman was the butterfly, her heavenly one is an angel. Is it coincidence that they both have wings ... I think not. ~Marge~ ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com [This message has been edited by Marge Tindal (edited 11-21-1999).] |

May your loving garden Ever blossom bright With memories to see you through Each dark and lonely night May you still remember Each year by passing year All of those that you have loved And ever hold them near ------------------ Alis volat propriis (She flies with her own wings) |

Thank you, Ruth. I smile with easy-remembering of all she left me. The mirror of my heart tells me that she never left at all. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Ah Marge! The title ALONE, was beautiful, so what can I say? I am never disappointed in what I read, as long as it has your name on it!! This was divinely beautiful...I especially loved the little extra piece you wrote at the bottom, of angels and butterflies both having wings.....exquisite thought...I know she smiles on you. ------------------ ~~ Lift your head high - spread your "words" and fly - - poetFemmeFatale |

Marge, this is a wonderful tribute to, undoubtably, a wonderful woman. The word association is first class. My ex-wife told me she would think about me in the same way...every time she weeded the garden. |

PoetFemme - Thank you for pullling this one back up. She was a very special person and her memory flits through my mind and settles in my heart. Balladeer - Thanks for the 'first-class' vote. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Miss/Mrs. Tindal- A poem as lovely as this puts a tear to my eye. With every verse I feel myself growing closer to my own mother. Thank you for sharing this feeling with me, and making me realize how wonderful my own mother is! ------------------ *~*Laura*~* "Dream over me with a tear, anything it takes to wish me here. Now this piece broke my rhythm. 'Tis one of those pieces one feels as well as reads. ------------------ Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~.
