You carried me before I could walk You spoke for me before I could talk You were the one who always saved the day You saw my needs before your own Measured my heights as I'd grown You guided me 'till I could find my own way Don't even want to think about If I'd had to do without The gifts of love and time you gave to me I've stored them all away For me to use again someday When I was born, I came with wings to fly And you gave me the sky |

Lost boy, this is a wonderful and powerful poem. Any mother would be honored to have words like that spoken or written for her. I love the rhyme scheme you used in this, it works quite well.
