A single red rose he gave her
as a sign of his love
To be together forever
was their dream from above.

Side by side through life
In good times and bad
They faced it together
for as long as they had.

Then the time finally came
when they parted ways
He misses her so much...
These are the longest of days.

He still takes her a rose
When he visits her grave
And tells her he loves her
As he bows his head and prays.

“One day, my love, we’ll be together again,
I leave this rose for you, until then.
I’ll see you tomorrow, my love,”
he says as he turns to walk away,
“soon I’ll be coming home to you,
...coming home to stay.”

Reminds me of Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe.

Beautiful feeling.
