A Sea Of Boundless Love You would have me dangle, waiting for your beckon call until you had some need of me to help you, lest you fall. You would have me standing, waiting for your next command. And never even notice if I offered you a hand. If I give you what you ask the value is denied. You say I gave you nothing, say I never even tried. So I am not surprised to find you think I let you down. For in a sea of boundless love, you can not swim. You drown. ------------------ Yesterday is history, tomorrow just a mystery. And if today is good to me how could I ask for more? |

Sounds like your good at treading water. Have you decided against being the Lifeguard anymore? -RS |

Thanks, Martie. And yes, I think I am. Thanks as well, RS. Yes, I had to give up the job as life guard. Letting someone drown does not look good on a resume either. LOL ------------------ Yesterday is history, tomorrow just a mystery. And if today is good to me how could I ask for more? |

Wow, I really enjoyed this. Well written. The last two lines are great although I might have worded them a bit differently, something like this: For in a sea of boundless love, if you can not swim; you drown. |

I have always been a believer of "What you put into life is what you get out of it" and one's actions come back around three fold whether good or bad. I am glad to see your eyes are wide open to being taken for granted. Wish you the best. Great poem!! ------------------ Debbie |

I thought this was wonderful, OhMe. I've always been one ready to throw the lifeline ... and sometimes it landed in shallow water. GLUB ! GLUB ! GLUB ! ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |
