Passion intense
ravages my every step
I stare upon a sunset
and feel live colors
flow through my veins
as blood
I walk barefoot among
grains of sand
and exhale them
as my breath

I know no quiet
this world is loud
even in silence
still

Where then lies my peace?

Who can calm
the raging storms
of my mind
every thought alive
and sense too strong
for rest

I feel dangerous
alone
unsafe yet free
this tasting of the earth's life
leads to risk
and calls so mighty

but

I am small
lost amid those
with deadened eyes
misunderstood
and needing constant thrill

Who then can help me sleep

yet
touch the color of
the sunset there with me
and vision the reins of control
as thin slices of
a floating cloud?

Who possesses such mix
of fire and cool?

Is this just...
a spirit's song?

Very beautiful and heartfelt piece, my dear. I too, have been there...walking in the sand as you spoke of - and as someone said, "Silence can be loud.".....when you're deep in thought and emotion, it almost always is. Stand strong, and breathe in life for what it's worth. I have faith in you.

I was so moved by this poem. You are only dangerous if you don't exhale the feelings that fill you up. Your spirit song is what will give you peace.

My friends...

Dream - LOL - I thought that as I centred this and just KNEW you would comment!! Thanks for the smile.

Isis - blushing here. Thankyou!

Freebyrd - yes, that is what I have learned - rather quickly!! (Love that username by the way)

Dear pFF - thankyou. Faith in myself right now is rather difficult - and I do know you have been there. Hugs to you dear friend.

Sy - that is so sweet!

Martie - alas - I truly find peace hard to attain - but there is a certain amount here, in my second home. Thanks -

Peace is a difficult journey my friend. (Supportive hugs right back atcha.) Taking the time to walk and think, scream your head off at the sky, kick the lamp posts and trash cans (careful that can hurt...ouch!). Talking with your friend and airing your soul is the path to attaining the peace you seek.

I am still travelling that path myself but have attained more then I have known in many years. You are on the right track, continue to believe in yourself.

Well if 21 replies doesn't just say something about this poem in itself i don't know what does. Severn each and every poem of yours i read touch my spirit. You have really opened yours up here and i almost feel as though i'm looking inside. Just the image of you doing exactly what marge said expresses the emotions you are feeling, and i do hope you find that peace in a world full of noise - keep searching you will find it. Loved this poem sweetie.

You've stopped my pen from rhyming, and rhythm, for you've captured here the rhythm of life and that my friend, not any poet could do,
Just beautiful
