I'm struggling on a daily basis, Battling my doubting emotional twin, To overcome my lack of self confidence, There IS more to life than just existing. I have some special friends, To boost my spirits when I am down, I have my loving family, They MUST think I'm a clown. I have my music and poetry, Within them I am at last set free, I feel I've come home again, This is what is meant for me. I'm trying hard, but still so fragile, My feelings are easily hurt, Embraced by self loathing, Kicking around in the dirt. I pray for an end to this downer, An end to all the doubt, To believe in myself totally again, Not feeling alone and left out. I miss that confidence, In days gone by nothing could stop me, I'd take on anyone or anything, Happy, smiling, and free. If I stood on a stage once more, As I dearly loved to do, Not a true note would leave my mouth, And there'd be nothing I could do! There is a confidence returning, Slow in it's recovery, Everyone else seems to like me well enough, Now if I could just love me. So, I'm fighting these doubts, Trying to be strong and true, Trying, then sliding, then trying again, It's all that's left for me to do. Goodbye to fragileness, Hello to new strength and vigour, But just remember this glimpse of me, I'm not all I appear. ------------------ Through poetry my heart and soul truly sing... ~Isis~ (Daughter of Mystery) |

Isis, I love this one, and I can relate all too much. ------------------ Thinking is just what a great many people think they are doing when they are merely rearranging their predjudices. |

Isis, perhaps your self confidence behaves like mine. I know it's there some where. But sometimes I just can't fine it!  ------------------ Yesterday is history, tomorrow just a mystery. And if today is good to me how could I ask for more? |

I have been there my sister. You are fighting for it to come back and I am proud of you. DO NOT!! Let anyone (I do mean anyone) try to keep you down girl! You are so very special and precious. I know how hard it is to believe in yourself when you are told how worthless you are. Do what you have to do to get through for now but as soon as you can stretch your wings. |

Isis....I see a butterfly emerging from a cocoon and spreading it's wings at last when I look at you. Wings not yet tested, but soon you shall soar my dear friend. You posess an internal strength that will see you through and allow you to overcome. I believe in you. Hugs Ruth |

Well, I believe the phrase "Only the strong survive." is accurate in so many cases. Yours included, my dear. Once you gain the strength, you can do just about anything. I think we've all faught with these feelings at one time or another. Well done, Isis. |

Isis - Keep up the quest for self-confidence. It may ebb and flow, and in so doing take you to the shore of realization, where you will stand confidently. I have confidence in you that you may use until you find your own. Your poetry is testament that you possess such warmth and strength to be shared with others.
