Hello.  This is the first poem that I am posting here, although I have enjoyed reading many poems posted.  This poem was written after a friend of mine committed suicide.  This came only a few weeks after another friend had done the same thing.  The poem itself is a "conversation" between me and my best friend - we've gone through this together too many times.

He Finally Won !

Did you hear the news ?
It really was him -
You remember him, don't you ?
Yes, it was her brother.
She's gonna be okay, though -
What about you ?
Yes, I'll be fine.
Are you gonna go ?
Maybe we should -
She'll need us there.
He was such a nice guy -
So young, though.
Too young.
We'll get through this -
Just like last time.
We will all pull together.
It'll be alright.
I'll pick you up at noon -
Again...

Rebecca - welcome.
I think that is a dreadful conversation you have had to have - but I'm glad you have your best friend to go through this with.
And it is an interesting technique writing this as a poem - I like it.

Again - welcome to Passions.

Hugs.

Very sad, indeed. Nobody wins when this happens. So final and so heartbreaking. You have expressed your feelings well in this, Rebecca. Welcome to Passions. I know you'll love it here.

This is very sad Rebecca, but as Severn said I am glad that you have your Best Friend by your side.

Rebecca: So poignant...big hugs sweetheart

Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn.

Welcome to passions Rebecca!
I loved this piece, I loved your style here, good thinking.  It is so sad a topic though and like it has already been said, i am glad you had your best friend with you during this.  Best friends are truly a gift from God.  I'll be looking for more of your work!
