Retread ... ~Marge Tindal~ 1999 I don't want to retreat from life, when I'm old enough to retire. I don't want to be tossed to the curb, like a worn out tire. I've many miles to travel before I reach my final bed. Take me to the shop and make me a retread ! Do not put me in a pile of things you no longer admire. Apply a ply of retread ... my heart's too young to retire ! Far too many miles left upon this rim. I want to be a retread and travel life again. I want to hit the road and travel many a mile. Let me be a retread ... that's my style ! ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Very well written! I am sure you are not alone in thinking this. Hmm *lightbulb turning on* your poem just gave me an idea for a poem... Great job! ------------------ ~*~ Time erases and rewrites all the lines. What remains is the poetry! ~*~ |

Echo - thank you. Below is a response from a dear friend in Canada that I sent this to ... I just wanted to share his humor with you all. If you're a retread.. does that make me a blowout? can I clean your tread? brighten your whitewalls? Check your pressure or rotate you till you come once more around to me? dont be punctured....be loved.......Warrior --------------------------------------------- ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Another great poem Marge. I like your philosophy. I see why you like circles, they just keep going. |
