Billowing clouds blot out the day
And water falls from heaven's floor
Things were meant to be this way
It's just nature's way to life restore.

The falling rain stings the ground
Turning dust to muddy moist,
It falls so quiet, almost no sound
And yet transforms it's dirty host.

It trickles and runs like windswept sand
Quickly across the ground
Pooling almost as if on demand
In puddles gathered round.

My life it seems is like this rain
Falling all around me now,
It reminds me of the joy and pain
Both necessary somehow.

Things cannot live in sunshines glow
Never drinking from the rain.
And it's nature's way somehow I know,
There's no joy without the pain.

And then the sun comes out...

Knowlege tempered by wisdom...Wisdom tamed by youth.

RSEvans -

Love the rain,
loved the imagery you use to remind us.
Beautiful ... waiting for the sunshine.

I like this, life has its ups and downs and can hand us plenty to handle but your ending is perfect....no if's, no and's, no wishing..."and then the sun comes out" period....
really nicely done

very true, RSEvans, i can relate...you must feel both love and pain in life...for with out either you never truly live...

This is wonderful!
Truly exquisite.
I hope you don't mind if I print it out for my Passions scrapbook.

What a wonderful way to describe the rain intertwined with life, I must admit that the rainy season is my favorite time of the year!  Keep up the good work RS, we know you can do no less!

I too, love the rain....
However, after a heavy downpour, it sure makes you more appreciative of the sun when it finally pops out.....Such is life.  Michael and I have talked about this some...We believe that alot of the struggles we go through here, are for a reason...Maybe to teach lessons, and so that when you do see the sun, you'll welcome it warmly on your face, and know you've been blessed!   An equal balance of both....rain & sun...makes for a beautiful springtime!  Ok....I'll hush now...I seem to be rambling alot !
