Lily in the thorns I am torn I am torn between two kinds of courage amid all kinds of scorn How may I approach you when my heart lies open bare? In your eyes I saw forever you were unaware of who I really was... if I was even real. You’re not one to play these games so I should not conceal... or hide behind these lines which go out from my heart and take the place of bravery perhaps even the start of something really beautiful... something pure and true. Yet the fantasy that these words provide keep me away from you So now you’ve said be brave What have I to lose? How about my confidence? my heart remains still bruised But I’d go through a thousand broken hearts for just a chance to hold you in my arms for one more minute when we dance. |

Excellent!!! There's nothing I like more than a well written pice of verse and this indeed classifies as that. Not only does it flow as smooth as water, but the subject matter is great. Wonderful poem, I enjoyed every last word [This message has been edited by hoot_owl_rn (edited 12-20-1999).] |

Samson, honestly at first when I looked at the title, I thought it was a religious poem, but as I read it, I could not stop until I finished! It is very Romantic, Beautiful, Just beautiful! PS. If it was about Jesus, well that would have been fine also! "Unto every life, A little love must fall!" |
