Forest Though The Trees- A Love Poem ~Stuart~ 1999 I looked through the forest for one to be, For I needed to know she was there. But my sight was clouded by the tree, This would only bring me despair. I held my hope of one you see, For I need the love to be fair. The spirit pleading to be free, It was almost too much to bear. This fate of mine now thought decreed, I started to loose what life could bring. The torment that it would surely breed. The soul beat down, never to sing. The wind had changed… the forest green, I saw an opening between the tree. A field of beauty that none had seen, The flowered path leading it to me. As I walked the path the birds took wing, The sounds of life more clear. My heart would pound as each would sing, The smell of flowers, field a near. Gentle winds, the grass in wave The eyes of sky, bright and blue It’s shape so perfect my thought “be brave” This field I view must not be true. I closed my eyes to wipe a tear When they opened, it was you For fate was changed that day my dear I know that yours was too. |
